Deep sea charter boat fishing on LBI with Captain Dave Wittenborn out of Beach Haven, New Jersey is a rewarding
experience for fishermen of all levels. Captain Dave has been fishing the local waters of Beach Haven and LBI, New Jersey
all his life. In fact, Captain Dave's family has been deep sea charter fishing these waters off Long Beach Island since
the 1930's. Captain Dave is a third generation charter captain and a passionate outdoor enthusiast. He has
a B.S. in marine science and biology from Rider University and first hand experience studying the marine ecosystems of New
Jersey as well as Maine, New Hampshire and Florida. Captain Dave has a United States Coast Guard 100 ton Master Captain's
License. When you charter with Captain Dave, you are being guaranteed that you are fishing with one of the most knowledgeable
and experienced charter captains in Beach Haven. Captain Dave offers near-shore deep sea fishing trips for the professional to the novice fisherman
aboard his beautiful 29ft Regulator, Compass Rose, which is the perfect boat for inshore trips. The Compass Rose is
equipped with all of the latest marine electronics and has powerful twin 250 horsepower 4-stroke Yamaha engines.
The boat also has a full private head, Sirius Satellite Radio and built in forward and rear seating which can accommodate
up to six passengers. Click here for a video of this awesome fishing machine. Crews who charter with Captain Dave will reach the fishing grounds
fast, safe, and in style .
During the spring season as the water temperature
begins to rise into the low 50's, stripers become the game fish of choice. It is not unusual for these fish to reach
over 30lbs and we target these fish by live lining eels, chumming clams, trolling or casting lures along the sod banks.
As the water temperature rises into the 60's and 70's, we focus our fishing on the artificial reef formations off the New
Jersey coast. New Jersey has a wonderful artificial reef program where army tanks, ships, subway cars, tires filled with concrete and concrete balls are sunk to the ocean floor in designated
areas to form artificial reefs. These reefs form a habitat for hundreds of types of marine organisms which make for
amazing fishing. When fishing these reefs, blackfish, summer flounder, and sea bass are the targeted species.
