Fishing is at it's Best!!!!!Fishing just can't get any better. The reefs sites have really come to life and every trip I have had in the last
two weeks has been action filled. The water temps are in the upper 70's and the clarity has been crystal clear blue.
The recent north east winds have blown the gulf stream within a few miles of our coast. We even saw flying fish a mile
off the beach.
My friend John Vaggot who fishes from our dock landed a 10.6lb door matt this weekend.

Inshore FishingFriday, August 12 I had the Wietzke group out for their fourth year in a row. I love taking these
guys out because they always bring great luck and this day was no different then the other days. It was one of the most
perfect fishing days of the season with a slight breeze out of the south east which provided us with the perfect drift.
The fishing action was very steady and Danny had the fish of the day with a 25" fluke. We ended up bringing home 18 fish
which should keep there freezer full for a while.

Inshore ReportThis past week has seen some steady fishing action. For those of you that like to sleep in, the fish bite has been
better in the late morning than the early morning. This has to to with wind drift and the tides.
On Thursday, August 4, I had the Quinn family out for their annual trip. This is the 5th year in a row they have
chartered a trip with me. It is great to see how their kids are growning up. Things started off pretty slow
in the morning. The seas were dead calm with no drift. Once the late morning wind kicked up and the tide changed
it was like someone turned on a switch and the fished started to bite. Rena Quinn had the largest Fluke at 20" with
the kids largest reaching 18".
On Saturday, Aug 7, I had the Rostock Family on an inshore trip. This was in celebration of their Dad's 75th birthday.
It was an honor to have them spend their father's milestone bithday with me. Things once again were slow in the early
moring until the tide changed around 10:00am. The fish switch was turned on and everyone began catching fish for the next two hours. Pop caught a 20.5" Fluke to top off his birthday and everone had a great time.

August is Here!!!!!!The best time of the year is here for inshore fishing with Captain Dave. After a slow start to the fishing season
in July due to cold water, the fishing has really picked up. I have had several trips in the past week which were very
successful with limit catches of fluke and sea bass. The fishing will remain hot for the next five weeks so make sure
you set up your trip in advance of your vacation to get your date.
On a seperate note, I captained the Reel Style on 8/29 & 8/30 in the Beach Haven Marlin & Tuna club annual offshore
fishing tournament. We did not win with the largest tuna fish but in two days of fishing we boated 13 tuna and 1 dolphin.
Needless to say that I am on good terms with my neighbors after giving away a large portion of our catch.
Check out the picture of my son Luke with a 25" fluke we caught this week.
